<br />Administrator/Engineer’s Report <br />January 24, 2018 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />Administrator Continuing Education Plan <br />I will be attending the City Engineers Association of Minnesota’s (CEAM) annual <br />conference (Jan 24-26). This conference satisfies the continuing education requirements <br />for my professional engineering licensure. <br />I completed an online training course in Land Use Basics, through the League of <br />Minnesota Cities. Having staff and elected officials take this course gives us a discount <br />on our insurance, through the league. <br />Social Media Presence <br />On this agenda is a request for adoption of a City Social Media Policy, and authorization <br />to open a Facebook page. <br />Council Chambers TV System Upgrade <br />A meeting has been set up with a vendor who gave us pricing info back in April. We will <br />review that proposal and bring a refined scope and cost recommendation after further <br />discussion with staff regarding our needs. <br />City Hall Carpet <br />At the request of City Council, our finance director was asked to comment on whether the <br />carpet install would best fit under the 2017 or 2018 budget. Ellie said that either budget <br />year could easily sustain the expense. City staff would like to complete the work in the <br />early summer to utilize summer help to offset some of the furniture moving costs. <br />Additionally, we will be evaluating whether other maintenance items, such as painting <br />should be done before carpet is installed. <br />2018 City Council Goals <br />A 2018 Goal Setting work session is scheduled for February 28th at 6:00 PM, with the <br />regular City Council meeting to follow. <br />Staff Meetings <br />A City Staff meeting was held, discussing recent council directives, future agenda items <br />for the council and other staff projects and goals. These meetings will be held monthly. <br /> <br />
