Once changes are made and reviewed with the <br />commenting agency, we will bring a final version back to the City Council for adoption. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT/PLANNING <br />Comp Plan <br />The draft Comprehensive Plan is on this week’s agenda for approval prior to submitting <br />to surrounding jurisdictions for review. A public hearing on the draft plan was held at the <br />June 5, Planning and Zoning Commission. There were no comments from the public. <br />Peltier Estates <br />We have been in contact with the developer and have been working through final issues. <br />They awaiting approval of their plans from Anoka County prior to beginning work. <br />Ruffridge Johnson <br />Construction has begun. <br />Waterworks Site/DeFoe Property <br />A Preliminary Plat was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission at their June 5 <br />meeting and a Public Hearing was held. Residents who spoke were generally in favor of <br />the proposed development. Issues regarding driveway and utility connections along <br />LaValle Drive are yet to be worked out. Once there is more clarity on these issues, the <br />Preliminary Plat will come before Council. <br />Erick Marshall Property <br />A Concept Plan was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission last month, <br />showing up to 5 detached townhomes at the northwest end of LaValle Drive. There has <br />been no further activity with this proposal. <br />Fruth/Fischer Property <br />A Concept Plan was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission last month <br />showing 32 single family homes. There has been no further activity with this proposal. <br />Economic Development Authority <br />The first EDA meeting is set for August 27 and the board members have been notified. <br />General Development Activity <br />City staff has fielded calls from roughly half a dozen realtors and others, regarding <br />various sites in town this month. Inquiries ranged from high density residential, to retail, <br />and industrial uses. Additionally, we are aware of at least two potential redevelopment <br />plans. Obviously, all of these items are only possibilities at this point, but it certainly <br />indicates a healthy market for development. <br /> <br />
