Waterworks Site/DeFoe
Property
The developer has now
submitted homeowners’
association documents to our
attorney for review. We have
been in daily communication
with the developer, owner and
homebuilder. We anticipate a
grading permit to be applied for
in the near future and anticipate
a final plat to be in front of the
City Council before the end of
October. It is the developer’s
intent to have the ability to
begin building homes this fall.
Erick Marshall Property
A Preliminary Plat application for detached townhomes at the northwest end of LaValle
Drive has been submitted. Staff sent Mr. Marshall a notice stating that his application
was incomplete (plans had not been submitted along with the application). We do,
however, anticipate a complete submittal soon.
Fruth/Fischer Property
The city attorney has been working with the developer on the developer’s agreement and
other logistics. Communication has been regular and continuous. We anticipate a final
plat to be forthcoming.
General Development Activity
th
City staff met with a developer, hoping to put a mini storage building on a site along 20
Ave. The developer appeared before the Planning and Zoning Commission for an
informal concept plan review. The site is zoned B-1, and therefore, does not allow mini-
storage. The proposal would require a rezoning, comp plan amendment and a
Conditional Use Permit, or a change to the city code allowing mini-storage in the
business district.
City staff met with the new owners of the apartments along Centerville Lake, adjacent to
Trailside and Cornerstone Parks. They are completing minor improvements to make the
homes there more livable, but mentioned that redevelopment would be a possibility in the
next 2-5 years.
1737 Main Street
Asbestos removal is complete. Utilities are being disconnected and we are obtaining
quotes for demolition of the building.
