Downtown Water Main and Street Reconstruction
City staff met with Anoka County staff to review the necessary steps for another attempt
at a Community Development Block Grant to complete the downtown water and street
project. Next steps include getting county and federal approval of an income survey
document and strategy. Once the plan for the income study is approved, we can begin the
survey.
PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS
Lino Lakes LaMotte Neighborhood Street and Utility Reconstruction
A preconstruction meeting was held last week to review the schedule and logistics of the
project. The job will NOT involve the installation of water main to the development. It
will strictly be a sewer rehab and street reconstruction project.
PARKS
Pickle Ball
Pickle Ball court lines have been added to the tennis court at Eagle Park.
Mowing Contract
We have now sent out a request for proposals for the mowing of city properties and will
have the results by the end of the month.
Committee Vacancy
The parks committee still has one open seat. Please talk with friends and neighbors about
this opportunity to serve.
Long Range Capital Improvement Plan
The Parks and Recreation Committee has approved a draft of the Long Range Capital
Improvement Plan (CIP). This CIP would be the backbone of a Parks and Trails Master
Plan which would set the foundation for a well justified Park Dedication Fee. The CIP
will be on an upcoming City Council agenda for review and approval.
Dupre Artifacts
Staff from Anoka County have now viewed the Dupre Artifacts and have begun
formulating a plan for display of some of them at Wargo Nature Center.
Recycling Efforts
City staff discussed the potential for new recycling and trash receptacles in city parks.
County recycling coordinator, Sue Doll, discussed a recent meeting held with several
cities to review the results they have seen with various systems around their communities.
The idea was to share successes and failures, learning from each other what works and
what does not, with the goal of improving recycling results at city facilities. The new bins
would be purchased with SCORE funds.
