<br />Administrator/Engineer’s Report <br />September 26, 2018 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />2019 Budget <br />Our next budget workshop is scheduled for September 26, just prior to the regular City <br />Council meeting. We will be discussing the Capital Improvement Fund. The overall <br />budget schedule is below: <br />September 26 Work Session – Capital Improvement Fund Review <br />Regular Meeting – Preliminary Budget and Tax Levy Adoption <br />October 24 Work Session – Enterprise Fund Review <br />November 14 Special Work Session – Final Budget Review <br />November 28 Regular Meeting – Final Budget and Tax Levy Adoption <br />Centennial Public Schools <br />A staff meeting with the schools has been set for October. In the meantime, the school <br />will be contacting a local surveyor to review their plat issues. <br />Elections <br />In-person voting began on Friday, September 21, 2018, meaning you can now come into <br />city hall and get a ballot. However, that ballot is kept until October 30, 2018, when <br />“direct balloting” opens. On that day, the previously received ballots are sent through the <br />ballot machine and counted. Also, starting that day, you can come into city hall, fill out <br />your ballot and put it in the counter immediately. On Saturday, November 3, 2018, City <br />Hall must be open for direct balloting from 10 AM to 3 PM and on Monday, November <br />5, City Hall must be open until 5 PM. Finally, election day is Tuesday, November 6, <br />2018. Thanks to Clerk Bender for keeping our city in compliance with all of these <br />important mandates on a very complicated, and ever changing, election cycle. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Economic Development Authority <br />The EDA met on September 19, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. The committee heard presentations <br />from Kathleen Duschene, from Open to Business, a non-profit business advising and loan <br />organization as well as Jacquel Hajder, from Anoka County Regional Economic <br />Development. <br />The committee also set priorities for action. In order, from highest priority to lowest, <br />they are: <br />1.City Owned Property <br />2.Downtown/Waterfront Property <br />3.Rebranding <br /> <br />
