4.Loan/Grant Program
5.Private Development and Redevelopment Sites
6.Modernization/City Hall Renovation
7.Commercial Code Compliance
The committee discussed the fact that all of these items are important and are ultimately
goals of the EDA. The ranking was simply done to focus staff time on the most urgent
needs first.
Quad Area Chamber of Commerce
City staff assisted the Chamber by distributing flyers and pamphlets with info on the
th
Chamber and an upcoming networking event to be held at Kelly’s on September 27
.
The chamber would like to get more Centerville businesses to be a part of the group.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Comp Plan
Our consultant and I have been through all comments from Met Council and others
developing an approach to addressing them. We will be bringing a few issues back to the
nd
planning commission on October 2 for additional discussion.
Peltier Estates
Staff received a call from an attorney for the developer, working on finalizing
Homeowner’s Association Documents. We are hopeful this is a sign that the
development is moving forward towards construction.
Ruffridge Johnson
Landscaping and other exterior work continues while the building’s interior is being built
out as well.
Waterworks Site/DeFoe Property
Tree and brush clearing have been completed, with the exception of some along the
lakeshore. A grading permit has been issued and an escrow submitted. A few easement
issues are being resolved before dirt can finally be moved.
Old Mill Estates
The city attorney has been working with the developer on the developer’s agreement and
other logistics. Communication has been regular and continuous. We anticipate a final
plat to be forthcoming.
Block 7 Property
City staff has received several inquiries regarding our vacant land on Centerville Road,
proposing anything from 60-80 units of workforce housing, to 25-30 units of higher end
condos, to 18 row-style townhomes. No formal offers or zoning applications have been
made.
