<br />January 9, 2019 <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />We are happy to welcome back to the City Council, Michelle Lakso. Michelle served on <br />been heavily involved in Public Safety, <br />heading up the Certified Emergency Response Team (CERT), which works in <br />conjunction with local law enforcement to enhance our capabilities in emergencies and <br />for large events. Welcome back, Michelle. <br /> <br />2019 Committee Appointments <br />Each year, the City Council revisits appointme <br />make those changes at the first meeting in January. <br /> <br />Clean Water Council Position <br />I am exploring the possibility of serving on <br />decides how the portion of the funding from the voter-approved state sales tax that is <br />allocated for clean water gets spent. Depending on the time commitments and the <br />be put forward for a possible appointment. <br /> <br />Centennial Public Schools <br />City staff and attorney have been in contact with school officials and are making progress <br />towards the resolution of their final plat issues. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Economic Development Authority <br />The EDA will be entertaining proposals from developers on the city-owned, vacant, <br />Block 7 property in downtown at their meeting on January 16. The Planning and Zoning <br />Commission will also attend this meeting. <br />Farmers Market <br />I have a meeting set up with the event organizer that runs the White Bear Lake <br />at something similar would look like if it <br />was done here on a smaller scale. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />Comp Plan <br />The final version of the Comprehensive Plan was submitted to the Metropolitan Council <br />before year-end.
