February 27, 2019 ________________________________________________________________________ ADMINISTRATION Centennial Public Schools City staff and attorney have been in contact with school officials and are making progress towards the resolution of their final plat issues. Part-Time Receptionist Position th Staff interviewed 4 candidates for the position on February 20 and plans to interview the th final 2 candidates on February 27. We are confident that this pool of candidates will produce a well-qualified employee. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Economic Development Authority The EDA meeting for February 20, was cancelled as we await proposals from developers for the Block 7 project. Farmers Market I was able to meet with the event organizer th She was very helpful in explaining the logistics of such an event and what might work for a scaled down version in Centerville. She will be putting together a proposal for helping to plan and manage something here. We are initially thinking of a 3-week run of Thursday evenings in August, between the end of Marketfest and the State Fair. We are exploring lots of ideas, but may try to start small with a few food trucks and vendors in Cornerstone Park, to build off the crowd at the Bald Eagle Waterski show. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Comp Plan Comments on our submitted plan have now been received from Met Council. City staff and our consultant are working to address them. None of the comments appear to be substantive. Peltier Estates Staff received a call from an attorney for the developer, working on finalizing are hopeful this is a sign that the development is moving forward towards construction. Waterworks Site/DeFoe Property Changes to the pool restrictions in the Conditional Use Permit for a Planned Unit Development are being presented at this City Council Meeting.
