Downtown Water Main and Street Reconstruction
City staff recently met with representatives from the County regarding our Community
Development Block Grant application. They have asked us to resubmit our application
with some small changes. We have reason to believe we will be successful with our
application and that we will be able to provide financial relief to income-qualified
residents in the downtown area for a water and street reconstruction project.
Water Main Interconnect
Lino Lakes recently submitted plans for the water main interconnect that is being planned
in conjunction with the Watermark development. City staff is reviewing them for final
comments. The interconnect would be the second such connection between Centerville
and Lino Lakes water systems. Centerville approved an amendment to the Interconnect
Agreement at an earlier meeting. The improvements are being paid for by Lino Lakes (or
their developer) and will not cost Centerville anything.
Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve Maintenance Facility Sewer Hook-up
County parks staff has contacted the city requesting an extension of their sewer service to
some new office space at their maintenance facility in the regional park. The facility
would simply hook to the existing sewer line serving other buildings in the park. City
staff is evaluating what hook-up charges or amendments to existing agreements may be
needed, if any.
PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS
Street Sweeping
The weather has not cooperated to get all of the sweeping done, but we continue to find

Downtown TIF District Inspections
ing at completing the necessary inspections
and documentation to qualify a downtown redevelopment TIF district.

Staffing
One of our public works staff members has been out for a week on a planned medical
leave. He will return next week on light duty assignments for a period of several weeks
before being revaluated to resume full work load.

We have commitments from four people for seasonal work this summer. All four are
returning employees, so we should have a good solid workforce to tackle some of our
projects.
