PARKS <br />Committee Vacancy <br />The parks committee now has two open seats. We have one identified candidate and are <br />hopeful she will join the committee next month. <br />Long Range Capital Improvement Plan <br />Staff will be completing an evaluation of our existing park equipment in the next month <br />or so to help us plan a replacement schedule, leading to a more informed budgeting. <br />Waterski Shows <br />Staff has discussed this event with a food truck vendor and are working out details of <br />how this may work. We expect to hear back in a few weeks. <br /> <br />Fete des Lacs Committee <br />of events and times. Sponsorships are starti <br />from several local businesses already. Tha <br />secured several very nice prizes for the Paddle des Lacs canoe/kayak/paddleboard event <br />including an Explorer Plus canoe paddle from Bending Branches ($130 value; see <br />below). <br /> <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Centennial Lakes Police Department <br />Chief Coan will be in attendance at our City Council meeting to give his annual report on <br />the state of the department. N <br />Centennial Fire District <br />The Steering Committee met on Thursday, April 18 and discussed a planned <br />reorganization in conjunction wi <br />The committee gave direction to staff to further explore a model which incorporates a <br />limited number of duty crew staff and eliminates one of the full-time officer positions. <br />An application was submitted to CenterPoint Energy for their Community Partnership <br />Grant. If received, funds would help pay for newly design <br />new hoods reduce cancer risks. The grant request was for $1,800, with a 1:1 match <br />required. <br />
