Inter -fund Loan
On this City Council agenda is some information about the status of the inter -fund loan
between the sewer and park funds, respectively. The Parks and Recreation Committee
reviewed this issue at its last meeting and put forth a recommendation on it.
Movie in the Park
This fall's Movie in the Park is set for September 14, with September 21 as a back-up
date in case of bad weather.
Long Range Capital Improvement Plan
Staff has completed an evaluation of our existing park equipment and has shared that
with the committee. Our Finance Director has placed this information in our Capital
Improvement Plan for the Capital Outlay fund to be discussed at an upcoming workshop.
Waterski Shows
Staff was unable to reach a viable agreement with food vendors in time to kick this event
off in 2019. The Parks Committee would still like to pursue a recurring Thursday night
event to enhance the Bald Eagle Waterski Shows.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Centennial Lakes Police Department
The department has received a notice of intent to begin negotiations with the labor union.
The three cities' administrators are working with the chief to outline our strategy for a
proposed 3-year contract.
Centennial Fire District
The Steering Committee met on August 13 and adopted a budget which accounts for the
hiring of two, part-time duty crew firefighters to help respond to weekday, daytime calls.
The budget represents a 5.25% increase over last year, as a department. However, this
year, Centerville's portion of that budget is larger than in years past, leading to an
increase of 7.61% for our community's share.
Night to Unite
Both our Police and Fire personnel attended various neighborhood gatherings throughout
our member cities.
