Inter -fund Loan <br />On this City Council agenda is some information about the status of the inter -fund loan <br />between the sewer and park funds, respectively. The Parks and Recreation Committee <br />reviewed this issue at its last meeting and put forth a recommendation on it. <br />Movie in the Park <br />This fall's Movie in the Park is set for September 14, with September 21 as a back-up <br />date in case of bad weather. <br />Long Range Capital Improvement Plan <br />Staff has completed an evaluation of our existing park equipment and has shared that <br />with the committee. Our Finance Director has placed this information in our Capital <br />Improvement Plan for the Capital Outlay fund to be discussed at an upcoming workshop. <br />Waterski Shows <br />Staff was unable to reach a viable agreement with food vendors in time to kick this event <br />off in 2019. The Parks Committee would still like to pursue a recurring Thursday night <br />event to enhance the Bald Eagle Waterski Shows. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Centennial Lakes Police Department <br />The department has received a notice of intent to begin negotiations with the labor union. <br />The three cities' administrators are working with the chief to outline our strategy for a <br />proposed 3-year contract. <br />Centennial Fire District <br />The Steering Committee met on August 13 and adopted a budget which accounts for the <br />hiring of two, part-time duty crew firefighters to help respond to weekday, daytime calls. <br />The budget represents a 5.25% increase over last year, as a department. However, this <br />year, Centerville's portion of that budget is larger than in years past, leading to an <br />increase of 7.61% for our community's share. <br />Night to Unite <br />Both our Police and Fire personnel attended various neighborhood gatherings throughout <br />our member cities. <br />
