ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Quad Area Chamber of Commerce <br />The chamber is hosting a Candidate Forum on October 3, at Centerville City Hall from <br />11:30 — 1:00 for those running for the open seat on the Anoka County Board of <br />Commissioners. Sign up here to attend: https://www.guadareachamber.org/lunch- <br />learn.html <br />Economic Development Authority <br />EDA Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br />The EDA held an open house on August 21 to roll out the Business Incentive Revolving <br />Loan and Grant Program giving local business owners an opportunity to hear more about <br />the program and offer input. An informational packet and application form was sent out <br />to the business community on 9/20, with applications due back by 10/10. If we have <br />multiple applications, The EDA will score and determine which projects may be funded <br />at their October meeting. <br />City Owned Property Initiatives <br />With the Council's decision to table the proposed transfer of city -owned property to the <br />EDA, the EDA looked to support the marketing of those properties by directing staff to <br />seek the services and opinions of commercial realtors. <br />2020 Budget <br />At their September 18 meeting, the EDA approved a recommended 2020 budget of <br />$22,800 and outlined their proposed general use of those funds (see below). <br />PrODosed 2020 Activities <br />Per Diem (3 members x $50 x 12 mtgs) $1,800 <br />Anoka County Regional Economic Development Partnership $300 <br />Business Open House $700 <br />Marketing for City -owned Land (advertisements, promo video) $2,000 <br />Engineering/Planning Fees (site studies, sketches, surveys, etc.) $3,000 <br />Market Study (retail study city -owned sites) $7,000 <br />Legal Fees (general advisory) $1,000 <br />Capital Purchases (banners, signs, streetscaping elements, etc.) $3,000 <br />Rebranding Support (graphic consulting, printing, website, etc.) $3,000 <br />Misc. Expenses $1,000 <br />Total $22,800 <br />
