Administrator Statz
will be presenting at the conference as part of a panel on public -private partnerships.
Minnesota Technology Corridor
The steering committee for the Minnesota Technology Corridor met on September 19 and
reviewed reports on website traffic since its launch. Also explored were ways to further
market the corridor and continue to get exposure. If you haven't had a chance yet, please
take a look: http://www.mntechcorridor.com/
Met Council was also on hand to discuss the possibility of the use of diverted wastewater
to support the cooling needs of a data center type facility. This concept is only in its
infancy and still has many hurdles, but is something the corridor group is looking at to
see if it could prove beneficial as a unique offering that other areas may not have.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Comprehensive Plan
Several Met Council staff have now engaged with the City Administrator and our
consultant on various topics and we appear to be moving towards perhaps one small
follow-up submittal before final approval.
Peltier Estates
Administrator Statz recently spoke with the developer for this project. They stated that
they were eager to start the project, but had difficulty finding a contractor to give them a
bid for the infrastructure work. We are assisting them in locating a contractor.
Bay View Villas (Waterworks Site)
The developer has now secured financing and posted a letter of credit with the city. The
plat is recorded and when weather permits, the road and grading will be finished. We
anticipate building permits to be issued before winter freeze-up.
