City of Centerville <br />Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />May 5, 2021 <br /> Motion made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee Member Bettinger to <br />approve the minutes of the April 7, 2021 P & R committee meeting with one correction: Unfinished <br />Business, Item 7, the wording at the end of the motion southeast to be changed to southwest. All <br />in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES/ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. <br />Eight vendors have applied with an additional five that have indicated an interest. There would be room <br />for up to 28 vendors. Additional volunteers are needed Thursdays, July 8 through August 12, 2021 from <br />4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in 2 hour shifts. Public Works will place the picnic tables and barricades, including <br />refuse and recycling containers. Parking will be provided in the south end of the school parking lot. <br /> <br />2. <br />Approximately 20 volunteers showed up, including members of the high school group, Lion Heart on <br />Saturday, April 24, 2021, to clean up several of the parks. Mayor Love thanked the volunteers and <br />provided pens and hand sanitizer to the volunteers. <br /> <br />3. Bald Eagle Water Ski Cl <br />The club has submitted a copy of their permit from Anoka County and insurance information to the City. <br /> <br />4. Centennial Baseball Schedul <br />A copy of the Little League schedule for the use of the ballfields 1 & 2 at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br />on Tuesdays and Thursdays was submitted to the City. <br /> <br />5. Adopt-a-Park Monument Flower Garden <br />The base of the flagpole has been cleaned up by Mrs. Susan Love and Mayor Love. Before and after <br />photos were provided. A volunteer is still needed to help beautify the area around City Hall. It was <br />suggested that before and after photos be taken for any projects undertaken in the future. <br /> <br />6. Staff Updates <br />7. <br />Mr. Statz reviewed his bi-monthly report with the Committee <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso did not have an update, but she thanked the Committee for their dedication and <br />hard work to help make Centerville a wonderful place to live. <br /> <br />IX.
