City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />June 2, 2021 <br />Public Works: they will deliver and set up tables, refuse/recycle containers and barricades; yet to <br />determine if they will be left on site or removed each week <br />Other: Discussed use of a tent or canopy for use by the volunteers at the entrance; also placement of the <br />porta-potty <br /> <br />2. 20-005b: Development of Park Tree Planting <br />Member Seeley <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley inspected all the parks and provided an extensive written report of the <br />proposed park maintenance & suggested replacement of trees and shrubs, along with a map of same,to <br />the committee members. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member <br />Betteringer to provide these recommendations to Public Works to take care of these them as time <br />and budget permit, and also provide a report by Mr Palzer at the end of the summer. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />The city website will have listings for all activities, including Kickball and Softball tournaments, <br />Videogame truck on Saturday sponsored by the City and a Lions Ninja Course. Fundraising for sponsors <br />is on track. Fireworks are scheduled for Friday evening with a rain date of Saturday. <br /> <br />Member Errickson-Grahek <br />A Logo selection committee of Mr. Pat Branch, Ms. Lonni Olson and Committee Member Errickson- <br />Grahek selected the first & second place and honorable mention winners of the 2021 Logo Competition <br />for the Centerville Elementary School and the Centennial Middle School. Both first place winners will <br />have their logo on each side of the medallion and other promotional items. They will also be featured <br />on the website, and on advertising for the Fete des Lacs activities. <br /> <br />Registration opens from 7:30 am to 9:00 am; there is a reduced registration fee for early registration; <br />there will be no award ceremony this year. The Kids Run is sponsored by Apple Academy. <br /> <br />There is no fee, but pre-registration is required. Additional kayaks, canoes and paddleboats may be <br />needed. <br /> <br />1. Ms. Vidger is taking on the role of Coordinator of the Parade this year. Currently there are 28 <br />units, but room for more; no fee for participating. A Grand Marshal still needs to be selected, along with <br />a master or mistress of ceremonies. Additional volunteers are needed for coordination of line-ups and <br />additional items needed are a golf cart, flags, trophies, etc. A permit has been approved by the Anoka <br />County Highway Department <br /> <br />4. 21-002: Music in the Park <br /> <br />a.
