<br />City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />June 2, 2021 <br /> <br />4. 21-002: Music in the Park – Committee Member Peterson <br /> <br />a. Food Trucks/Liquor Permit <br /> <br />Administrator Statz informed the committee members that according to the State Regulations, no alcohol <br />will be allowed to be served by food vendors unless it is a non-profit organization. Ms. Lonni Olson has <br />secured some food trucks for this weekly event, at least 2 each week. Committee Member Peterson <br />shared the food truck schedule for the MITP stating it will be listed on the Facebook event page. <br /> <br />b. Bands/Contracts <br /> <br />The bands are lined up and the contracts have been forwarded to the bands. The A-frame signs are ready <br />to be placed and possibly a vinyl banner. Committee Member Peterson purchased curtains as a backdrop <br />behind the bands to prevent the sun marring the view. There was also discussion to obtain some funds <br />for the promotion of the Main Street Market at the Music in the Park events. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Bettinger, seconded by Committee Member Freiermuth to <br />reimburse Committee Member Peterson $70.65 for the stage backdrop curtains. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Bettinger, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />recommend to the City Council to set aside up to $50 for additional promotion/advertising of the <br />Main Street Market during the M.I.T.P events if needed. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS – NONE <br /> <br />VII. APPROVAL OF MAY 5, 2021 MINUTES <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley requested the following modifications: VI. New Business #1 – Correct the <br />spelling of Waeghe, under VI. New Business #2 – Correct the spelling of Waeghe and Laurie LaMotte <br />Park, under VIII. Updates/Announcements delete the #7, under X. Agenda Items for June Meeting, <br />Updates/Announcements, #2 – Correct spelling of program, under XI. Adjournment correct the spelling <br />of Errickson-Grahek and correct the page numbering. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member <br />Bettinger to Approve the May 5, 2021 meeting minutes with the Above Stated Corrections. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES <br /> <br />1. Adopt-a-Park Monument Flower Garden Program <br /> <br />The numerous volunteers have begun, working on and/or completed the renovations, planting and caring <br />for their gardens. The rain barrels are available to use and most need additional hose lengths. Many <br />thanks to the volunteers for their hard work and to the Public Works Department for their ongoing <br />assistance in providing water to the barrels. Also the boys and girls of Scout Troop #136 are currently <br />working on Hidden Spring and Laurie LaMotte. <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
