<br />City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />June 2, 2021 <br /> <br />2. Pollinator Garden – Committee Member Seeley <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley reported on this during her report on Park Maintenance & Tree/Shrub <br />replacement recommendations. <br /> <br />3. Downtown Banners <br /> <br />Appreciation to the Public Works Department who installed the street banners, purchased by the EDA <br />in the downtown area along Main Street. Thank you also to the City of Lino Lakes for the use of their <br />equipment. <br /> <br />4. Staff Updates - Administrator Statz <br /> <br />Administrator Statz provided the following updates: <br /> <br />City of Centerville Website: This is a priority to be completed this summer and include pages for P & <br />R, EDA and other departments, committees and areas of interest. <br />Park & Trail Plan: This will be presented in July. <br />ADA Equipment: – Committee Member Kathy Freiermuth dropped off equipment information to Mr. <br />Palzer on Tuesday and suggested that Acorn or LaMotte would be better suited for this type of equipment. <br />P & R Events Calendar: Committee Member Errickson-Graheck will present a report at the July meeting. <br />LaMotte Restrooms: This building will be unlocked during park hours; additional information is needed <br />from Mr. Palzer, P.W., regarding replacement faucets. <br />Volunteer Appreciation Event: Committee Member Seeley and Administrator Statz will coordinate this <br />event in the fall. <br />Pleasure Rink: To be added to future agenda. <br />DNR Sale of Trees: Need to research type of trees/shrubs available in the spring <br />Commercial Development: Two of the three projects have been approved - Kwik Trip with a car wash <br />and the Assisted Living/Memory Care; the Apartment complex & zoning issues will be discussed at a <br />special council meeting on June 3. <br />Street Project Downtown: This project is close to being completed. <br />Administrator's Report: This bi-monthly report is available via email to anyone who requests it and <br />online. <br />Historic Artifacts: Several artifacts are currently on display in the new Council Chambers plus several <br />items will be placed on permanent display at the Wargo Center. <br /> <br />5. Council Liaison Update – Council Member Lakso <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso reported that over $350,000 in Park Dedication Fees will be available from the <br />proposed commercial developments and it has been suggested that these funds be used to pay down the <br />current balance of $700,000 of the loan. Also the P & R Capital Improvement Plan also needs to be <br />reviewed and modified if needed. <br /> <br />Committee Member Errickson-Grahek suggested a review of the skate park as well as the basketball <br />court(s) as part of the capital improvement plan. <br /> <br />6.
