City of Centerville <br />Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />July 7, 2021 <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES <br />1. <br /> <br />The Main Street Market will be held Thursday evenings from Ju <br />7 p.m. The Ship Grant was approved and six (6) picnic tables have been purchased, 13 vendors plus 1 <br />farmer have been confirmed, the #15 booth will be for information, first aid, etc. He stated that <br />volunteers have been recruited and a listing of the vendors and a map where provided to Committee <br />Members. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Tuesday, July 13, 2021 - Opening Ceremonies will include Color Guard and welcome by Mayor Love <br />& Lions President, Ron Hogan, followed by Music in the Park and concluding with the reading of the <br />first clue for the Medallion Hunt; <br />Wednesday, July 14, 2021 - Public Safety Night and second clue for the Medallion Hunt; <br />Thursday, July 15, 2021 - Main Street Market, the Bald Eagle Water Ski Show and third clue for the <br />Medallion Hunt; <br />Friday, July 16, 2021 - All-Star Kickball Game & Fireworks Display; <br />Saturday, July 17, 2021 - Kickball & Softball Tournaments, 5K/8K & kids Runs, Parade, Kids Fest, <br />Game Truck and Classic Car Show, among many other activities; <br />Sunday, July 18, 2021 - Softball Tournament, Ninja course, Kids Fest, Game Truck and Paddle des <br />Lacs. <br /> <br />Plus there are many other activities on each of the festival days. The Lions Concessions stand will be <br />open on Tuesday and Friday through Sunday. Most of the activities are free. Many thanks to the <br />numerous sponsors and volunteers that assist in making this event happen. A full list of events and <br />activities may be found at: fetedeslacs.org or on Facebook. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Volunteers need to be confirmed for the following areas: Registration and timing assistants, <br />announcer, water stops, course layout, etc. Most of the Committee Members have committed to help <br />with the event, along with other volunteers, including the Scouts and possibly the Anoka County Radio <br />Club. <br />2.a. Shirts need to be ordered for the runners, both adult and kids, and will be light blue with the logos <br />of the sponsors on them. <br />2.b. Shirts are also being considered for the volunteers; bright yellow shirts st <br />back and have been ordered for the Main Street Market and a request to order additional shirts for the <br />Fete des Lacs run volunteers will need to be ordered by staff. <br />3. Food not to offer pizza, but to distribute energy bars instead. <br />4. Masks will be optional for runners; both races will start simultaneously. <br />5. Registration will accept cash, checks and plastic; the City has a Square account. <br /> <br /> <br />1. Handcrafted paddle donated by Sanborn Canoe and valued at about $150, will be raffled off <br />during this event. <br />2.
