<br />Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION & COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 24, 2021 <br />5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled City <br />Council Meeting on February 24, 2021 via Zoom Videoconferencing at: <br />https://zoom.us/j/478824301, Meeting ID: 478 824 301 with audio only available at: 312-626- <br />6799. The meeting was also live streamed by North Metro TV. <br /> <br />WORK SESSION <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor D. Love called the meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL* <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor D. Love <br />Council Member Steve King <br />Council Member Russ Koski <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso <br />Council Member Darrin Mosher <br /> <br />ABSENT: None. <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz <br /> City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> Finance Director Bruce DeJong <br /> George Eilertson, Northland Securities <br /> <br />*Note that “present” is construed to mean that the noted individuals were visibly and audibly <br />present on the videoconference call. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that he neglected to add a presentation by Centennial School District <br />for the Regular Council Meeting. <br /> <br />II. AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />1. Centennial Fire District Study Update <br /> <br />Administrator Statz provided Council with an update and stated that discussions were held at the <br />Centennial Fire Steering Committee and several steps can and have been taken that were included <br />in the study. He also stated that the study has recommended opportunities for collaboration for <br />responding to fire calls, day-to-day operations, etc. He reported that the study addressed the <br />partnering with the Public Safety Department at the City of Lino Lakes, the Spring Lake <br />Park/Blaine/Moundsview Fire Department (SBM) or the City of Hugo’s Fire Department. He <br />reported that the Co-Chiefs and Administrators have been working diligently with Fire Personnel <br />as this is not a takeover of the department but contracting of services to assess savings and staffing <br />solutions. He stated that discussions have ensued and will continue with the aforementioned <br />departments with SBM the elimination of all full-time positions, Lino Lakes is unsure as their new <br /> <br />
