City of Centerville <br />EDA Minutes <br /> July 21, 2021 <br /> <br /> a. Blue Logo Sign <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated there is nothing new to report on this item. <br /> <br /> b. CenterStage <br />(i) Review of Eligibility Requirements <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz reviewed a report from Ms. Michelle Koch, Main Street Marketers. <br /> <br />There was discussion on if members of the Commission should reach out to some of the businesses <br />who stated they were interested previously in advertising with the program but have not been in <br />touch with Main Street Marketers. Commissioner Remillard stated he will contact the people he <br />spoke with before and follow-up. <br /> <br />c. Business Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz briefly discussed this item. He stated the sign that Mr. Jensen, Jets Hockey <br />had installed is not the correct size for the location, the business who created it is going to correct <br />it and make it smaller for him. <br /> <br />d. COVID Relief Business Assistance Grant Programs (American Rescue <br />Plan) <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated that the City should be receiving the funding by August 4, 2021 <br />and Staff will be researching how the funds may be expended. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 1. 2022 Budget Proposal <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz presented a spreadsheet with budget items and discussed planning for the <br />2022 year. There was discussion on what programs they may want to continue in 2022 and which <br />they may want to discontinue. <br /> <br />2. Business Appreciation Event <br />3. SWAG Bag Review <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated they handed out 150 “swag” bags at the Music in the Park event <br />and another 150 that were empty at the Main Street Market. He stated he is wondering if the <br />Commission would like to order more since they went over so well. He noted they served their <br />purpose which is to encourage people to shop downtown after events, which is why the Main Street <br />Market is set-up there as well. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosher, seconded by Commissioner Remillard to approve the <br />purchase of 300 more bags. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
