City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />September 7, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />1. Outdoor Storage in Residential Districts <br /> <br />Administrator Statz introduced and provided background on this item. <br /> <br />There was discussion on this item regarding if the graphic in the Commissions packet can <br />be entered as part of the City Code. City Attorney Glaser stated legally, only certain images <br />and graphics such as blueprints, including legal points of some sort can be included in City <br />Code. Administrator Statz stated they could hand out the graphic whenever this item is <br />discussed or mail it out with the public hearing notice. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to have staff and City Attorney Glaser add the <br />language agreed upon in August, as well as definitions for clarity, to the draft and set this <br />item for a public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to call for a public <br />hearing on this item. All in favor. Motion carried <br /> <br />VII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Chapter 50 – Garbage and Rubbish Consider regulation of soft-sided dumpster bags <br /> <br />Administrator Statz introduced this item and provided some background information on it. <br />There was discussion among the Commission on this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to close public <br />hearing on this item at 8:18 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Olson to recommend that <br />the City Council adopt amendments to City Code, Chapter 50, related to Flexible or <br />Compact Dumpsters as detailed in the attached suggested ordinance language, <br />removing the license requirement for pick up and editing road right of way <br />requirement to allow for placement of the dumpsters in the right of way, but excluding <br />placement in the actual road. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Chapter 156.111 – Fences – Consideration of modifications to fence placement related <br />to the front of the home <br /> <br />Administrator Statz introduced and provided some background on this item. There was <br />discussion among the Commission on this item. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Olson to close public <br />hearing on this item at 8:28 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to recommend <br />that the City Council adopt changes to City Code, Chapter 156.111 as noted in the <br />attached suggested code language, allowing fences to be constructed up to the front of <br />the home.
