Make the call to 211 <br />to get more information. <br /> <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Quad Area Chamber of Commerce <br />A lunch and learn featuring the four citiesÓ administrators with updates on developments <br />and other activities in their respective cities. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />Business Appreciation Event <br />The EDA held a Business Appreciation Event on Thursday, September 9 at LaMotte Park. <br />Attendance grew from the EDAÓs initial event, held two years ago, prior to COVID. <br />Samantha Markman from Anoka County Regional Economic Development spoke about <br />recent initiatives at the county level and Michelle Koch spoke about the CenterStage <br />program, sponsored by the EDA. <br /> <br />2022 Preliminary Budget <br />The EDAÓs 2022 budget request was approved by the City Council and has been made a <br />part of the cityÓs Preliminary Budget and Levy. The budget includes provisions for the <br />extension of its current ongoing programs as well as some investments in streetscaping <br />enhancements and other capital costs. Finally, the budget has allowances for participation <br />in market or engineering studies to help develop or redevelop commercial properties. <br /> <br />Blue Logo Sign Program Extended <br />The EDA recently extended its Blue Logo Sign program for 3 years, committing to 50% of <br />the costs for returning participants and pledging a 75% cost participation on the first yearÓs <br />fees for newcomers. See this North Metro TV feature on the program for more information: <br />https://youtu.be/9rrHcnImy3U?t=44 <br /> <br />Half Priced Water Hook-up Fees for Businesses <br />Through the end of 2021, the City is offering our businesses half-priced hook-up fees for <br />connecting to the municipal water system. <br /> <br />Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />UpRiver Real Estate Event <br />ACRED will host its signature event of the year at Running Aces on November 18 from 8:30 <br />Î 11:30 AM. Speakers will highlight recent market trends, project successes and review <br />available resources for development. <br /> <br /> <br />
