City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br /> October 20, 2021 <br /> a. Check List <br />Executive Director Statz presented Check #000008 in the amount of $68.88 issued to the <br />IRS/EFTPS, Check #001012 in the amount of $665.25 issued to Chef Hot Hands, Check #001013 <br />in the amount of $26.00 made out to Statz, Mark, check #001014 in the amount of $150 made <br />issued to the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce, and Check #001015 in the amount of $187.00 <br />issued to TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial. <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated the City Council approved an additional hire to the existing <br />administrative staff and he noted they hoped to have someone hired within a month or so and after <br />a few months of the new hire getting up to speed, they will be able to take over the minute recording <br />and the City will be able to eliminate the extra cost for offsite minute taking. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosher, seconded by Commissioner Weatherhead to approve the <br />check list as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />2. Communications <br />a. Brew Pub Sketch Downtown <br />Executive Director Statz stated he has continued to exchange communications with representatives <br />interested in opening a brew pub in the City. He reviewed the most recent email exchange and the <br />lot options that are available for this type of business. <br />President Hanzal asked what options they might have to avoid making someone pay to get water <br />hook-ups installed in a building, for the developer to just turn around and tear down the building. <br />Executive Director Statz stated they have a few incentives to compensate for that issue. <br /> <br />Commissioner Remillard stated he likes the idea of the parking garage going in on this site and <br />noted it would be nice to have something there to clean-up that area. Commissioner Weatherhead <br />stated he likes the idea of the municipal parking lot as well. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mosher stated he likes the overall proposed plan. <br /> <br />Commissioner King stated he likes the idea of live music but is not a fan of loud bass, he feels the <br />proposed developments could breakup some of that noise. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was that they liked the general concept of the proposed plan. <br /> <br />VI. REPORTS <br /> <br /> 1. AdministratorÓs Report <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated the City has been sued regarding some businesses stating they have <br />been wrongfully turned away from building there. He noted the CityÓs position is that the zoning <br />currently there does not support the business types of the plaintiffs. He stated they have a <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br />
