City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 10, 2021 <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that Ms. Vento had requested to reschedule her appearance this evening <br />due to illness. <br /> <br />V. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Mayor Love opened the public hearing at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />1. Delinquent Utilities, Garbage/Recycling and Nuisance/City Abatement <br />ththstrd <br />Services, Etc. (4-6 Billing Cycles of 2020 & 1-3 Billing Cycles of 2021 <br />(Utilities & Garbage/Recycling) & Nuisance/City Abatement, Etc. Through <br />November, 2021. Such Amounts will be Assessed to Parcel Identification <br />Numbers Through County Property Tax Statements Payable 2022 <br /> <br />No members of the public were present to give comment. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso stated that she felt that the overall amount is less than previous years. <br />Administrator Statz stated that he believed that was the case and explained that late fees were not <br />added during the year due to COVID. Council Member Koski asked if there was a reason why <br />people do not pay their utilities. Administrator Statz stated some individuals believe it is easier to <br />pay on their taxes annually rather than their utility bill every two months. Mayor Love asked if <br />there was a grace period or deadline date to accept payment. Administrator Statz stated that letters <br />were forwarded to residents regarding the deadline date for payment and notice of when the public <br />hearing would take place as required by law. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Close the Public <br />Hearing at 6:46 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member King, to Adopt Res. #21- <br />018 - Delinquent Utilities, Garbage/Recycling and Nuisance/City Abatement Services, Etc. <br />ththstrd <br />(4-6 Billing Cycles of 2020 & 1-3 Billing Cycles of 2021 (Utilities & Garbage/Recycling) <br />& Nuisance/City Abatement, Etc. Motion carried. <br /> <br />V. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES <br /> <br />1. August 11, 2021 City Council Meeting & Closed Executive Session Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for others to add or delete any items. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso thanked staff for taking the reformatting of the Fee Schedule per <br />suggestion and pointed out a typo graphical error on the last page, XI., last sentence should be <br />“Labor Day” instead of “Labor Date”. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Koski to approve the <br />August 11, 2021 City Council Meeting & Closed Executive Session Meeting Minutes as <br />Amended.
