City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 27, 2021 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member King, to Communicate to <br />the County that the City is Not Interested in Purchasing the Property and Would Like the <br />County to Retain It. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members King, <br />Koski, Lakso & Mosher voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser further explained if the County were to sell the property, City Council does <br />not need to be notified. <br /> <br />2. Wellhead Protection Joint Powers Agreement <br /> <br />City Administrator Statz explained Centerville is currently involved in a Joint Powers Agreement <br />with cities that have similar well priorities. The City is required to have a Wellhead Protection <br />Plan. The Wellhead Protection Plan includes community outreach, education and map making. He <br />stated other cities get together and add or delete the revised agreement to meet all the needs of the <br />participants. <br /> <br />Council Member King wondered the difference with this agreement. City Administrator Statz <br />stated changes were minimal. He also stated cities can now join without City Council approval. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski wondered is there an annual fee and if so, who pays that. City <br />Administrator Statz believes there is no an annual fee to be a part of this group. <br /> <br />Council Member Mosher noted an annual report would be helpful and informative. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to Approve <br />Wellhead Protection Joint Powers Agreement. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and <br />Council Members King, Koski, Lakso & Mosher voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />1. Administrator’s/Engineer Report – City Administrator Statz stated commercial <br />and residential developments are wrapping up. The mini storage developer is waiting <br />on fence supplies and will rent units this fall. <br />2. Council Reports <br />a. Lakso <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee – Referred the Council to the <br />agenda. – Volunteer Appreciation Night was well attended and many <br />people were recognized. Local vendor provided food. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council – <br /> b. Koski – <br />nd <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – None. Will meet Nov 2, public <br />hearing for Block 7 preliminary request for rezone and Conditional <br />Use Permit for 2050 and 2070 Main Street <br /> Fire Steering Committee – 6:00 pm tomorrow night <br />c. King <br /> Economic Development Authority – discussed Brew Pub, holiday <br />lights, updates on the Blue Sign Program. <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
