Speed Networking Event <br />The Quad Area Chamber hosted a speed networking <br />event at St. MarkÓs Church in Circle Pines and there <br />were approximately twenty (20) people who attended. <br />Representatives of businesses from Centerville, Lino <br />Lakes, and Forest Lake attended. A few of the <br />businesses that were represented include Hampton Inn <br />& Suites, Express Employment Services, the <br />Department of Corrections, Marketeers, and Toast Masters (Lino Lakes). This was a successful <br />event! Look for future events like this on a quarterly basis. <br /> <br />Beyond the Yellow Ribbon <br />City staff and the Quad Area Chamber met to discuss ways to enhance veterans <br />programs for Centerville residents. There were a lot of ideas generated, and a <br />follow-up discussion will take place in the next couple of weeks. <br /> <br />Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />While there is no formal update from ACRED, the EDA talked about their role <br />at the PGA/3M open in July. The EDA discussed inviting people who are interested in locating <br />in Centerville. <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />The EDA approved their 2022-2024 EDA Strategic Plan, outlining their goals for the next three <br />years. <br /> <br />EDA goals are to: <br /> Guide Redevelopment <br /> Spur New Development <br /> Increase Business Engagement <br /> Market & Promote Centerville <br /> <br />The EDA also discussed their involvement with <br />Parks & Rec. in their Halloween Trunk or Treat event and explored ideas for holiday <br />decorations this year. <br /> <br />Hugo Business Association (HBA) <br />Hugo Area Business Association - HBA held their <br />monthly meeting on March 7th. They talked about <br />their upcoming Egg Hunt on April 9th at Hanifl <br />Fields from, 9am-10:30am, and also from 12:00pm- <br />1:30pm. This is a hugely popular event. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />Block 7 Property (Downtown) Î ÐSorel QuarterÑ <br />Centra Homes and city staff met on March 18 to discuss the countyÓs request for additional <br />right-of-way along the west side of Centerville Road. The developer will be having their <br />engineers and landscape architects review the impacts of this request. We believe that both the <br /> <br />
