<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />February 2, 2022 <br />who do not attend either the Centerville Elementary or Middle schools and discussions with Mr. Branch <br />for his input on future procedures associated with the program. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Freiermuth to <br />recommend to the City Council allocation of a total of $350 for award funding for the winners (3 <br />from each school) for the 2022 Logo Contest. (Two first place of $100, two second place of $50 and <br />two honorable mentions of $25). All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />1. Request for Use of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park, Medallion Hunt – Centerville <br />Elementary School <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Seeley <br />to approve the request of Centerville Elementary use of either Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park or <br />Hidden Spring Park for a Medallion Hunt beginning February 4, 2022 until the medallion is found. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Staff informed the Committee that both the Centennial Lakes Police Department and Centennial Fire <br />District have been advised of this request along with the Public Works Department. <br /> <br />VII. APPROVAL OF JANUARY 5, 2022 P & R COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Errickson-Grahek, seconded by Committee Member Akpan <br />to approve the minutes of the January 5, 2022 meeting with the following corrections: delete “p” <br />from space between “I.” and “Chairperson”; V. Unfinished Business, #3. 5th sentence: change <br />“were” to “where”; VI. New Business #1. 6th sentence of motion: delete the word “be”; VIII. <br />Updates #2: add: “they will” between time and discuss. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES <br /> <br />1. Staff Updates: Administrator Statz <br />Administrator Statz provided his written Administrator’s Report in the packet for Committee review. <br /> <br />2. Council Liaison Update – Council Member Lakso <br />Council Member Lakso stated that the Council’s scheduled Retreat/Goal Setting Session had been <br />cancelled due to COVID and that it would be reschedule for a date in March. <br /> <br />3. Main Street Market Update <br /> <br />Staff has completed the Rules & Regulations and Vendor Registration forms for 2022. Staff reported <br />that past vendors were provided with two (2) weeks advance notice prior to posting to the public on the <br />City’s website. It was also stated that the information would be posted on the Main Street Market <br />Facebook page and the City’s social media outlets. Staff informed the Committee that four (4) vendors <br />were currently registered. Staff reported that a grant was again available if vendors of fresh fruits and <br />vegetables, honey, maple syrup, eggs, etc. were included. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 5 <br /> <br />
