Centerville 2040 Comprehensive Plan <br /> <br /> <br />The Chain of Lakes-Otter Lake Regional Trail connects to the Central Anoka County Trail <br />through the regional park. It extends north/south on the western portion of the City along <br />County Road 21 and County Road 14. <br />The Central Anoka County Regional Trail that runs east/west through the City along Main Street <br />(County Road 14). This trail connects to the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes on the west and to the <br />Hardwood Creek Regional Trail in Washington County. <br />The development of these two regional trails through the heart of Centerville is a great benefit <br />to the residents to improve access to three significant regional parks and abundant recreation <br />opportunities. Regional trail routes are shown on Map 5-2. <br />L OCAL B ICYCLE/P EDESTRIAN T RAILS <br />The City has prepared a trail plan that identifies a system of bikeways, trails and sidewalks <br />connecting City parks and major bicycle/pedestrian traffic generators. These include schools, <br />the downtown area, and Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve. The <br />bikeway/pedestrian system will include trails and sidewalks. <br />All existing and proposed trails in the City are identified on the Parks and Trails Plan (Map 5-1). <br />Proposed trails are listed below: <br />County Road 54 from the southern boundary of the City to Center Street. <br />CSAH 21 Centerville Rd between the southern City limit and Dupre Road. <br />Additional trails and sidewalks to be considered within new developments <br />Proposed corridors in areas being platted will be dedicated to the City as part of the City's park <br />dedication requirements. Implementation of the trails system will be included in the Capital <br />Improvements Program of the City. <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 70 <br /> <br /> <br />
