City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 9, 2022 <br /> <br />He briefly discussed Council’s Goals Setting/Strategic Planning Session and stated <br />that Mrs. Love did a wonderful job facilitating it. He thanked Assistant <br />Administrator Lewis for her presentation, stated that things seem to be more <br />organized and professional. <br /> <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski that stated that <br />the two (2) items of discussion this evening were discussed at the meeting. <br /> <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that Chief Smith <br />will be retiring on May 1, that Mr. Dan Retka has been named Interim Chief. <br /> <br />c. King - <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member King gave no <br />report. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member King gave no update. Get <br />scheduled with SBM and hiring process. A Process for interim and get us <br />involved. <br />Thanks to Athanasia appreciate and brighten things up and like what doing and hope to see more. <br />Mosher appreciation looked at Mark and said thank you and retreat went well and structure last <br />year and this year real well and thanks to Miss Love and EDa board getting interesting. <br /> <br />d. Mosher – Stated that he felt that the Goal Setting Session went very well. <br /> <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love reported that he attended the Planning & Zoning Commission <br />meeting, that it was well run and that they do great work allowing Council the <br />ability to take the final steps needed. He also thanked them for their service. <br /> <br /> Mayor Love thanked Administrator Statz for planning the Council’s Goal <br />Setting/Strategic Planning Session. He thanked Staff for attending and Council’s <br />engagement and vision throughout the day. He thanked Mrs. Love for her planning <br />and facilitating. He reported that she spent approximately 4-6 hours on the draft <br />Strategic Plan. <br /> <br /> He stated that he had an opportunity to speak at a MN House hearing meeting in <br />support of legislature associated with Mental Wellness Funding for first line <br />workers (Police, Fire) bill would encourage PTSD treatment, wellness and funding. <br />He hoped it would be helpful for those suffering and offer treatment to get back to <br />work. <br /> <br /> He stated that the City is looking for volunteers with a vacancy on Parks & <br />Recreation, looking for a Fete des Lacs Parade Coordinator and a Run Coordinator. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 9 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
