City of Centerville <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />May 4, 2022 <br />Committee Member Errickson-GrahekÓs assistance be requested as she is an avid walker. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />recommend to City Council to approve not mowing near the Pollinator Garden at Acorn Creek <br />Park and behind the ball field fences along the ditch at Laurie LaMotte Park during the month of <br />May. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Centerville Summer Events Promotions <br />It has been suggested that the promotion of the following City/Park events, (Music in the Park, Main <br />Street Market/Bald Eagle Water Ski Show and Fete des Lacs) be marketed together on fliers, yard signs, <br />etc. Staff recommended the purchase of corrugated signs, ÐHÑ stakes and signage for the ÐAÑ frame <br />signs be purchased. In addition, 150-200 fliers would be printed with distribution to businesses for <br />placement in their windows and available for participants at each of the events. The proposed cost would <br />be $250 for the signs plus $390 for consultant fees; this is an estimated cost. Costs will be shared 2/3 by <br />the Committee and 1/3 by Fete des Lacs. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Kubat to <br />recommend to City Council approval of the purchase of 20 corrugated 2 sided signs (18 x 24), ÐHÑ <br />stakes and 6 corrugated 2 sided signs for the ÐAÑ frame signage along with 150-200 fliers . In <br />addition for the purchase of 150 Î 200 fliers including consultant fees, not to exceed $640. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />4. Swing Seats <br />Committee Member Kubat suggested that Tracie McBride Park had two (2) ÐbucketÑ type swings and <br />Acorn Creek Park had no ÐbucketÑ type swing and that if possible could one be switched out at each park <br />so that there was a variety within the parks. It was also recommended that the Public Work Department <br />ensure their safety. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Kubat, seconded by Committee Member Peterson to <br />exchange one of the ÐbucketÑ swing seats in Acorn Park with one of the plastic swing seats in Tracie <br />McBride Park. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VII. APPROVAL OF APRIL 6, 2022 P & R MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes were not provided via email as they were incomplete. <br /> <br />VIII. UPDATES <br /> <br />1. Staff updates <br /> <br />a. Eagle Park Î Discussions ensued regarding cleaning of downed branches in areas where trees <br /> thinned and having Public Works remove the debris. <br />b. R.J. Property Maintenance is our current contractor for mowing provided a quote for filling in <br />rd <br />drain tile at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park at a cost of $1,460. Work was completed on May 3. <br />c. Request for Proposals Î have been sent to vendors. <br />d. Park Cleanup Î several emails were sent out thanking the Committee Members, Scouts and other <br />residents. An article will be placed in the Administrator's Report.
