City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 11, 2022 <br /> <br /> <br />Administrator Statz noted that the Administrator’s Report was included in the packet and that he <br />would be happy to answer any questions regarding it. He additionally stated that a Public Hearing <br />was held at Planning & Zoning for Project Banjo where input was received from the public, the <br />Commission had lengthy discussion and that Council would be considering the item at their May <br />25, 2022 meeting. He report that Staff is working diligently on documents needed associated with <br />the project and that Ryan Companies hoped for things to be taken care of in June. He also reported <br />that Sutton Transportation have broken ground and that Max Storage would be closing on their <br />construction loan shortly. He stated that Kwik Trip had submitted a building permit, that a Ribbon <br />Cutting Ceremony would be held for the Centerville Mini-Storage on June 7, that Atlas Memory <br />Care was anticipated to open soon, the Public Works Directors idea for no mow May in two (2) <br />area parks that may assist pollinators in their efforts, and the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce <br />upcoming event for a Senior Expo. Scheduled for May 19, 2022 at St. Genevieve’s Community <br />Parish <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser – City Attorney Glaser thanked all lawyers that participated in Law Day <br />and stated that it was well received and he was appreciative that many people took advantage of <br />the day. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Peterson – Junior Council Member Peterson gave no report <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Lakso – <br /> <br /> Parks & Recreation – Council Member Lakso gave no report due to her <br />absence. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council – Council Member Lakso gave no <br />report due to her absence. <br /> <br />b. Koski – Council Member Koski asked about development opportunities received; <br />primarily brewpubs. Administrator Statz stated that he has been approached <br />regarding brewpub, bark and brew, restaurants, and the property located at 1737 <br />Main Street. He stated that 1737 Main Street is a unique parcel and that the EDA <br />continues to work toward making the site more marketable. Discussion ensued <br />regarding remnants from the CSAH14 project and feedback for interested <br />individuals who have turned the site down. <br /> <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that a <br />Public Hearing was held regarding Project Banjo, several issues were <br />addressed at the meeting (noise, intersection issues with Center <br />Street/Fairview), traffic counts, etc. He reported that his is extremely <br />thankful for the Commission and their input. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that there would <br />be an informational meeting regarding recruitment for a Chief on May 25, <br />2022. <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
