(C) False entries. A secondhand goods dealer or pawnbroker may not make any false entry in his or her <br />records of the transactions. <br /> <br />(D) Serial numbers. No licensee, agent or employee of a licensee shall purchase, accept or receive any <br />article of property which contains an altered or obliterated serial number or an article of property whose <br />serial number has been removed. <br /> <br />(E) Security interests. <br /> <br />(1) No licensee, agent or employee of a licensee shall purchase, accept or receive any article of <br />property knowing, or having reason to know, that the article of property is encumbered by a <br />security interest. <br /> <br />(2) For the purpose of this section, SECURITY INTEREST means an interest in property which <br />secures payment or other performance of an obligation. <br /> <br />(F) Owner of property. No licensee, agent or employee of a licensee shall purchase, accept or receive any <br />article of property from any person knowing, or having reason to know, that the person is not the true <br />and correct owner of the property. <br /> <br />(G) Valid driverÓs license or photo identification card. No licensee, agent or employee of a licensee shall <br />purchase, accept or receive any article of property from any person without first having examined a <br />valid photo driverÓs license or a valid photo identification card issued by the state of residency of the <br />person. <br /> <br />(H) Conduct of persons on licensed premises. <br /> <br />(1) No person may pawn, pledge, sell, leave or deposit any article of property not his or her own; <br />nor shall any person pawn, pledge, sell, leave or deposit the property of another, whether with <br />permission or without; nor shall any person pawn, pledge, sell, leave or deposit any article of <br />property in which another has a security interest with any licensee; and <br /> <br />(2) No person seeking to pawn, pledge, sell, leave or deposit any article of property with any <br />licensee shall give a false or fictitious name; give a false date of birth; give a false or out-of-date <br />address of residence or telephone number; nor present a false driverÓs license or identification <br />card to any licensee. <br />Penalty, see § 112.99 <br />Ord. #64, adopted 08/13/1997 <br />§ 112.16 ADEQUATE SIGNAGE. <br /> All licensees shall by adequate signage inform persons seeking to pawn, pledge, sell, leave or deposit <br />articles of property with the licensee of the following requirements.
