<br />City of Centerville <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />March 2, 2022 <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Kubat, seconded by Committee Member Peterson to table V. <br />Unfinished Business, 1. 19-013 Master Trail Plan & CIP and VI. New Business, 4. Draft <br />Monument/Donation Policy to the beginning of the April 6, 2022 Committee Meeting. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />1. 19-013: Master Trail Plan and CIP <br /> <br />Tabled <br /> <br />2. 22-001: Music in the Park - Musicians <br /> <br />Committee Member Peterson stated that he is in the process of contacting/scheduling various performers. <br /> <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Request for use of Trails – Shake Your Shamrock 5/7K, March 19, 2022 <br /> <br />Midwest Multisport Races, LLC has submitted a request to utilize park trails for their annual “Shake Your <br />Shamrock” 5/7 K runs. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Kubat, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to Recommend to the <br />City Council to grant Approval of the use of Park Trails Associated with the Submitted Conditioned <br />Upon: No Permanent Marks made on Trails, Sidewalks or City Property; no maintenance of said <br />Trails or Sidewalks of Intended use will Receive Maintenance Above and Beyond that of Regular <br />Maintenance of the City; if a Snow Event Occurs on the Weekend, Maintenance will not be Provided; <br />and the Organizers are Responsible for Holding Conversations with the Centennial Lakes Police <br />Department Alerting them of the Scheduled Event and Adhere to their Recommendations. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Request for Use of Hidden Spring Park – Grad Party, June 5, 2022 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) <br /> <br />Ms. Michelle Baland has submitted a request to utilize Hidden Springs Park for a graduation party. <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Akpan to Recommend to <br />the City Council to grant Approval of the use of Hidden Springs Park as Submitted Conditioned Upon: <br />submission of the remaining user fee and required certificate of insurance naming the City as <br />additionally insured. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. Laurie LaMotte Ballfields – Centerville Lions Request for Improvements <br /> <br />The Centerville Lions have submitted a request for several items to be taken care of at Laurie LaMotte <br />Memorial Park regarding the ballfields. Their concerns were: transitioning between the infield and outfield; <br />filling in the irrigation lines due to exposed rock; anchoring and possession of the bases; and backstop <br />fencing opening between the ground and fence. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
