CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />C'en'termlle <br />Agenda Item # <br />Department: <br />Requested Meeting Date: <br />VII.1 <br />EDA <br />August 18 2022 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Partner Agency Report <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />ACRED - Economic Development Director Gregory Frahm -Gilles began on August 1, 2022 and is in the process of meeting stakeholders in Anoka <br />County. He will attend the September EDA meeting, so he can meet the board and provide an update. <br />The Quad Area Chamber - held a lunch with the Royalty and Lino Lakes Ambassadors Program Sponsors on August 1 lth from 1130-lpm. The <br />annual candidate experience is a leadership development program for young women that takes place each summer between July and August. Program <br />organizers seek to provide a fun and memorable summer while fostering personal growth through a variety of unique events that build self- <br />confidence, networking skills, new friendships, and service opportunities. At this event, the ambassadors practiced their speeches and interview <br />questions as part of the preparation for Coronation. <br />Hugo Area Business Association - The HBA met on August 9, 2022 and toured the new Lions Park. The Pavilion is being named after Peter <br />Peterson, a volunteer and active parks board member for Hugo and White Bear Lake. There is a Veterans Memorial in one corner of the park. There <br />are 164 parking spaces in addition to on -street parking. The parks has an ADA accessible playground. The New Elementary School is opening this <br />year - teachers are moving in next week.
