Administrator/Engineer's Report terviffe August 10, 2022 TG5tablidied 185; ELECTIONS Afiei�� Direct Balloting is taking place currently for the August 9, 2022 Primary (this a part of ELECTION early voting). The Primary Election narrows the field of candidates that will be on the November ballot for the General Election. The State Partisan Primary Ballot has candidates for State Offices (Governor & Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State and Attorney General). Four parties (Grassroots -Legalize Cannabis Parry, Legal Marijuana Now Party, Republican Party and the Democratic -Farmer -Labor Party) have all put forward candidates. On this side of the ballot you must stay within the same party while voting for candidates. On the back side of the ballot are County Offices (County Commissioner, District 3 and County Sheriff). This is the nonpartisan portion of the ballot which do not carry the same rules regarding parties. Direct Balloting will end on August 8, 2022 at 5 p.m. City Hall will also be open for this type of voting on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you desire to cast a ballot during this time, you will complete an application, be given a ballot for voting here at City Hall and you will place your ballot into the counting machine. Primary Election Day is August 9, 2022 from 7 a.m. — 8 p.m. and you will vote at St. Gen's Community Parish. Filing for Municipal Offices commenced on August 2, 2022 — August 16, 2022 (Hours are the same as above except for no filing on Saturday, August 6 and ending at 5 p.m. on August 16, 2022). Seats available: Mayor (2 year term), two (2) Council seats (4 year terms). Fee for filing: $2. If you have any questions, please contact the City Clerk at: 651-792-7933. The current Mayoral incumbent, D. Love filed for the seat August 2, 2022. Little unknown fact that in 2005, the Council named the first day of filling for Municipal Offices Linda Broussard Vickers Day. Ms. Broussard Vickers has served the City for many, many years in the capacity of Parks & Recreation Committee Member, Planning & Zoning Commission and City Council. Ms. Broussard Vickers has recently resigned from the Planning & Zoning Commission after her second stint on the Commission. Thank you Linda! ackson H. is our third (3rd) Medallion winner. Jackson and his family have 10 week old puppy and Jackson intends on purchasing some toys for Zoey pith the money. Jackson stated that he knew right away that he won omething when he came across the duct tape that held the medallion in the side of a Parks & Recreation travel blanket given away at the Bald Eagle Vaterski Show the week of Fete des Lacs. .Ve are eagerly awaiting the remaining medallion winner to claim their $100 prize. If you are aware of the winner, please have them turn it into City Hall during regular office hours of 7:30 — 4:00, Monday -Friday. The City is allowing the winner to retain the medallion if they chose.
