City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 10, 2022 <br />2. Purchase Agreement Cancellation Î Centra Homes Î Sorel Quarter <br />Administrator Statz reported that Centra Homes (Centra North, LLC) has informed the City via <br />email (that was provided in the packet) that they are no longer pursuing a project on Block 7. There <br />concerns are with the housing and townhomes market have cooled down and would like have the <br />City accept this cancellation. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Approve <br />Resolution 22-021 to Terminating Real Estate Purchase Agreement with Centra Homes Î <br />Sorel Quarter, as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />3. Website Redesign and Mobile App <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis reviewed a presentation regarding the CityÓs website and <br />mobile app. She stated that CivicPlus has shown staff a draft of the design/layout and would like <br />council for their input and consideration. She stated that in order to meet the date of the projected <br />launch date, staff would need to submit approval of the design/layout to them on or before August <br />19. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion ensued as to who the website committee members were, the different website <br />that CivicPlus designed, content of the website, layout (design) ideas for the City, the banners on <br />the website, accessibility to staff (email), mobile aps, testing the functions of the website, <br />organization of it before it goes live and the timeframe when website goes live. <br /> <br />Mayor Love thanked the entire committee and staff for the fantastic work and stated that this is a <br />huge step forward for our City. <br /> <br />4. Bid Award Î 2022 Thin Overlay Program & City Hall Parking Lot Improvements <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that there were four (4) bids received for the 2022 Thin Overlay Project <br />and City Hall Parking Lot Improvements. He stated that the low bid was approximately 30% over <br />the engineerÓs costs. Ms. Kelli Schlegel revealed the low bidder as being Bituminous Roadways, <br />Inc., in the amount of $771,227. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion ensued as the cost of the project, what was included in the project and special <br />assessments. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member King to Table the Bid <br />Award on the 2022 Thin Overlay Program & City Hall Parking Lot Improvements. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Request from Metro Cities to Sign Letter re: Local Government Aid <br />Administrator Statz stated that Metro Cities has approached the City seeking support in a letter to <br />the StateÓs executive and legislative branches, urging them to take action on the Local Government <br />Page 4 of 6 <br /> <br />
