City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting & Closed Executive Session <br />September 14, 2022 <br /> <br />helped him understand the process. He stated that Administrator Statz explained to him that part <br />of the code is subject to interpretation and only real issue is that it’s too close to the property line. <br />Mr. Smith stated that it doesn’t seem that there is uniformity throughout the community as to sheds. <br />Mr. Smith is asking for this process to be improved, asking the City Administrator for all the <br />records for accessory structures permits and variances that have been recorded in the 5 years and <br />asking all the community member to act in a fair and responsible way. <br /> <br />Mayor Love reaffirmed that this was brought Planning and Zoning. City Administrator explained <br />there were 2 issues: First, if he needed a variance for the side yard and second, the placement of <br />the shed within 5 feet of the property line. He stated that initially the permit was denied by the <br />Building Inspector because of the structure being in the side yard. Administrator Statz stated that <br />he is working with Mr. Smith without action from any other board and if the placement of the shed <br />is less than the 5 feet then there would be a variance process. <br /> <br />V. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />VI. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES <br /> <br />1. June 21, 2022 City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to make revisions if they desired. Council <br />Member Lakso stated on page 2 of 6 under the item Absent, after the Roll Call, her name was <br />there. Double check to make sure that she was there because there were a lot of motions made by <br />her and the minutes reflect that she was not absent for meeting. She stated that she was at the <br />Work Session. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Approve the <br />June 21, 2022 City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes with the noted change. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. July 11, 2022 City Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to make revisions if they desired. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Lakso to Approve the <br />July 11, 2022 City Council Meeting Minutes as presented. King abstained. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />3. July 27, 2022 City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to make revisions if they desired. Mayor Love <br />stated that did not call the meeting to order. He was at the Work Session via zoom but was not for <br />the Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
