City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting & Closed Executive Session <br />September 14, 2022 <br /> <br /> Parks & Recreation – Council Member Lakso stated that she was not at <br />meeting but has an update from staff. She stated for Music in Park they <br />discussed what to do when a food vendor doesn’t show up and came up with <br />a backup plan to have ice cream or freeze pop. She reported on the Bands <br />and how they give them a good deals, ways to enhance and discussing <br />increasing pay. Movie in Park is on Saturday, September 19 at 7 p.m. or <br />dusk and the movie is “The Mitchells versus Machine. She stated for some <br />of the upcoming events, they are trying to get sponsors. She stated on <br />October 29 the Fire Department, Police Department, Snow Plow and maybe <br />the Mayor and Council Members are doing an event, called “Trunk or <br />Treat” in the school parking lot. She talked about the Ship Grant (Statewide <br />Help Initiative Program) and it looks like they are targeting some bike fix it <br />station, drinking fountains that have the water bottle filler and dog station. <br />Also stated that Parks & Rec need a mixer board for Music in the Park and <br />during events the committee members will wear the same color t-shirts with <br />their the logo. <br /> <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection – No report was given. <br /> <br />b. Koski – <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – No report was given. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – No report was given. <br /> <br />c. King - <br /> Economic Development Authority – No report was given. <br /> Fire Steering – No report was given <br />d. Mosher – <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher did not give a report. <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher did not <br />give a report but stated he will be speaking of Market Fest at the next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />e. Love – Mayor Love stated that this month World Alzheimer’s Month. <br /> <br /> He thanked everyone this past week was for attending Patriot’s Day. We <br />had some of our Fire Fighter stand out in front of the station FD out for most <br />of the day, holding a flag and an ax. He stated as he watch people would <br />drive by and honk in appreciation. <br /> <br /> He mentioned that he was reading through the police report on Centerville <br />and there was an uptick in a neighborly discourse. He took the opportunity <br />to say Centerville has a rich history about caring about neighbors and <br />treating other right in a fair, kind and respectful way. <br /> <br /> North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love stated that <br />there was a North Metro meeting next week. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
