City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting & Closed Executive Session <br />September 14, 2022 <br /> <br /> <br />1. None <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz commented on the upcoming elections, the processes and polling places. He <br />stated that there are still open seats on EDA and Parks & Rec. Committees. He reported that <br />Planning and Zoning has no seat available and the new members had their first meeting last night. <br />He stated that the Planning Commission did addressed some of the coding issues that were <br />mentioned. <br /> <br />He commented on the construction going on around town. Kwik Trip and Amazon building pads <br />are prepped or poured. The tanks have been installed for gas at the Kwik Trip and both are on <br />schedule. Both the assistant living and memory care facilities have received their Certificate of <br />Occupancy. They are waiting to hire staff and licensing through the county. He commented on <br />nice the American Roofing Supply looks and noticed that the Mini-Storage has done some <br />improvements and corrected the drainage issues and repaved, added a retaining wall and <br />landscaping. On the residential developments most punch list items have been addressed with the <br />builders. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso asked if we were still going to put on our website job listings and what’s <br />going on in our community. She also mentioned that the school was hiring. She asked when the <br />website was going live. Administrator Statz stated that we have been going through hours of <br />training but was unsure as to when the site was going live. <br /> <br />Council Member King asked who was constructing the fence near the water tower. Administrator <br />Statz stated the City was and that Public Works is completing the work to be cost effective. <br /> <br />Attorney Glaser requested that Council do a motion regarding cancelling the closed session as <br />mentioned. <br /> <br />Motioned by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Mosher to cancel the <br />Closed Executive Session as noticed. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Peterson stated that all freshman started school on Tuesday and the rest <br />on Wednesday last week, fall sports started, the girl’s volleyball team won, football game is an <br />away game at Totino Grace on Friday. Council Member King stated that he looks forward to first <br />day of school for the freshman because all the seniors line up and cheering them on – he said there <br />was no such thing this year, do you know why? Mr. Peterson stated no, but did mention that there <br />were Seniors and Juniors as peer leaders that were helping the freshmen. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a.
