City of Centerville <br />City Council Work Session & Meeting Minutes <br />September 28, 2022 <br />Swenson to the EDA, Filling the Current Vacancy on Board. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. Downtown Market Study <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis stated that the EDA had been reviewing proposals for a Downtown <br />Market Study incorporating a city-wide study spurring development and fulfillment of the strategic plan <br />of the Authority. She reported that several of the proposals received were not comparison as some were <br />for inventory versus analysis of the market. She stated that the Board felt that the previous study from <br />Damon Farber was outdated and the City would benefit for a study that was current. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding involvement of the Planning & Zoning Commission due to current zoning <br />and what may be the best for the economy and the future, funding, Requests for Proposals or additional <br />discussions prior to a decision being made. <br /> <br />No action was taken. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report Î Administrator Statz stated that his AdministratorÓs Report <br />was sent via email, that he would entertain questions and stated that absentee balloting was unter <br />way. He updated the audience regarding the process regarding early voting and reminded them <br />of the General Election date stating that voting would take place at St. GenÓs on Election Day. <br />He stated that there was an opportunity the Saturday prior to Election Day for early voting on <br />Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis reported that the Business Appreciation would be held on October <br />4, 2022 at Hidden Spring Park with all businesses being welcomed, including home-based businesses. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that the Anoka County election system was extremely secure and reliable. <br />He encouraged voters to utilize the process if they were comfortable. Administrator Statz stated that <br />the process was extremely robust. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Peterson reported it was Homecoming week and each day had a different <br />theme (i.e. Adam Sandler Day, Camo Day, etc.). He stated that Centennial would be playing Wayzata. <br />He explained that the Powderpuff game with the same evening and a bonfire the following evening. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Lakso - <br /> Parks & Recreation Î No report was given due to absence. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council Î No report was given due to absence. <br /> <br />b. Koski - <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission ÎCouncil Member Koski stated that discussion already <br />had taken place about the CommissionÓs actions and discussions. <br /> Fire Steering Committee Î Council Member Koski reported that the meeting would take <br />place on October 3, 2022. <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />
