City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 12, 2022 <br />Statz stated that Mr. Montain brought new AED. We were awarded grant to by all new AEDs <br />for and City Hall and PD and other public buildings. <br /> <br />He reported that half of the City was paved in the last two weeks explaining that with the City <br />projects and the completion of Michaud Way, Fairview Street and Sutton Transport paving <br />their parking lot there was a large amount of asphalt laid. He stated that City Hall received <br />an additional handicap parking space and moved Purple Heart parking space. He reported <br />that Kwik Trip is going up rapidly and Amazon is moving along. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Lewis - EDA would be having a vacancy shortly and its <br />posting would happen the following week. <br /> <br />Junior Council Member Peterson reported that the Cougars won the homecoming game and <br />that the Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer teams would be headed to section playoffs. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Lakso - <br /> Parks & Recreation – Council Member Lakso stated that the Volunteer Appreciation <br />Event would be held shortly and that her schedule did not allow her attendance of the <br />meeting. She stated that Alternate, Council Member King would provide a report. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council – No report was given. <br /> <br />b. Koski – Council Member Koski thanked Battalion Chief Montain for his work associated with <br />obtaining grants that benefit the residents of Centerville and Circle Pines. <br /> <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that Amazon was <br />looking to change landscaping on the fence by adding barbed wire. He stated that barbed <br />wire fencing in not allow by code that that their representatives may come back with an <br />alternative request. Administrator Statz stated that they could ask because of PUD and <br />could accommodate because of relaxed code. He stated that there has been discussion <br />regarding discharge of firearms and modifications to the code. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – <br /> <br />c. King - <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member King reported that a restaurant <br />had recently shown interest in Centerville, that the Business Appreciation Event took <br />place and approximately eight (8) businesses attended with Anoka County Open to <br />Business on hand to discuss the economic climate and business assistance, the Committee <br />held interviews for a vacancy and Ms. Chris Swenson was appointed and that Anoka <br />County Regional Economic Development had a new director, Mr. Gregory Frahm-Gilles. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member King gave no report. <br /> Parks & Recreation Committee – Council Member King stated that Mr. Jacob Hart, <br />rd <br />provided the Committee with a presentation for a crosswalk to be located at 73 Street <br />th <br />and 20 Avenue. He provided statistics and possible crossing that could be utilized. He <br />stated that he will be attending college and works on the other side of the freeway.
