City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 12, 2022 <br />meeting as it falls on the day before Thanksgiving. If needed, an emergency meeting could be called. <br />Administrator Statz also recommended cancelling the November 9, 2022 scheduled work session as a <br />Veteran’s Day Event was scheduled prior to the meeting and recommended scheduling it for December <br />14, 2022. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Mosher to Approve the <br />Cancellation of the November 23, 2022 City Council Meeting and Work Session, as presented. All <br />in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Administrator Statz asked to move the work session to be schedule for December 14, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. <br />just prior to the City Council Meeting. Mayor Love asked why they were not considering cancelling the <br />second meeting in December. Administrator Statz stated that in the past, the date scheduled could be <br />cancelled on a later date but if determined needed it is scheduled. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve the Addition <br />of Work Session to December 14, 2022 City Council Meeting, as presented. All in favor. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />3. Waiver of Service of Summons – Outlot A: Rehbein Commercial <br /> <br />Attorney Glaser explained that there is an issue with the lines on Outlot A and asked Rehbein Commercial <br />to sue the City, (a friendly lawsuit). He is asking Council to authorize Staff to accept the services of the <br />legal process and voluntarily default in a legal action brought by R&R Leasing (aka Rehbein). He stated <br />that Rehbein is correcting legal issues with lots at the corner of 21st and Main and they must use a legal <br />action to register a lot as Torrens property. He stated that the City spotted this problem and required <br />Rehbein to use this legal action as a condition of their Development Agreement with the City. This legal <br />action will allow Rehbein to combine lots. Ultimately, these lot combinations will facilitate future <br />development of the site. Attorney Glaser stated that he has examined the title to this property and <br />confirmed that the City does not have any issue or objection to this action by Rehbein. He stated that <br />this will save money for all parties. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Koski, seconded by Council Member King of the Approve of Waiver <br />of Service of Summons from Rehbein – Outlot A; Rehbein Commercial, as presented. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that his Administrator’s <br />Report was included in the packet and that he would be happy to answer any questions. He <br />reported on Elections, Planning & Zoning, the Parks Department is looking for a member, <br />Trunk or Treat Event, the website up and running. He stated that we have Veterans’ ceremony <br />planned before the November 9 meeting. He stated that there will be a display in council <br />chambers in the display window where some local veterans lent some items and Anoka <br />County Historical Society is helping with that and give our Veterans the honor that they <br />deserve. This takes place at 5:00 on November 9, 2022. He stated this week was Fire <br />Prevention Week with was highlighted in Centerville Cares tips for family.
