City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />August 16, 2022 <br /> <br />Administrator Statz introduced the ordinance on No Parking Areas. Discussion ensued about when <br />parking is allowed and the width of existing streets. The ordinance will be brought back for more <br />discussion. <br /> <br />1. Elect a new Chair <br />Discussion ensued about electing a chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thompson, seconded by Commissioner Semmelink to elect <br />Commissioner David Kubat to chair of the Planning and Zoning commission. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Discussion confirmed that Commissioner Krueger will remain in his current position as Vice Chair <br />and that the committee will continue its practice of having the most senior member of the committee <br />act as chair if the Chair and/or Vice Chair are not present. <br /> <br />VIII. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />June 7, 2022 Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes <br />1. <br />Motion by Commissioner Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to approve the June 7, <br />2022 Planning and Zoning Commission minutes. Commissioners Kuiper, Krueger, Olson, <br />Nelson in favor. Commissioners Thompson and Semmelink abstained. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. July 19, 2022 Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kuiper, seconded by Commissioner Nelson to approve the July 19, <br />2022 Planning and Zoning Commission minutes. Commissioners Kuiper, Krueger, Olson, <br />Nelson in favor. Commissioners Thompson and Semmelink abstained. Motion carried. <br /> <br />IX. Announcements and Updates <br /> <br />1. Council Member Liaison <br />Councilmember Koski reported that we are expecting an increase in the public safety budget. <br /> <br />2. Administrator’s Report <br />City Administrator Statz reviewed the administrator’s report as presented. Administrator Statz <br />pointed out that there has been some interest in Block 7 from three developers. Two of the <br />developers would follow the plans that Centra proposed. Approvals for development of block 7 <br />would start over (preliminary and final plats). <br /> <br />X.
