City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br /> September 21, 2022 <br /> <br />a. Check List <br />Motion by Commissioner Mosher and seconded by Commissioner King to approve the check <br />list as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Communications <br />a. Block 7 <br />Executive Director Lewis reported that at the September 14 City Council meeting, the council <br />approved a purchase agreement with Jim Boo and the Carson Schifsky group to move ahead on <br />the former Centra Homes project on Block 7. The project is for a 26-unit row-style townhome <br />development. Centra Homes sold their plans to the Schifsky group, and the preliminary and final <br />plans will have to go to the P&Z for approval before the end of the year. <br /> <br />b. 1737 Main Street <br />Executive Director Lewis reported that Mike Brass contacted Administrator Statz about the <br />possibility of Don Julios (breakfast concept) at the 1737 Main Street site – we have no additional <br />information at this time. <br /> <br />c. Business Appreciation Event <br />Executive Director Lewis reported that the details for the upcoming annual business appreciation <br />event have been finalized. Wiseguys pizza will provide the food and Gregory Frahm-Gilles will <br />give the keynote speech. <br /> <br />VI. PRESENTATION <br />1. Gregory Frahm-Gilles, ACRED <br /> <br />Gregory Frahm-Gilles, the Anoka County Regional Economic Development Director, introduced <br />himself to the EDA and gave a brief presentation on what he has been working on since he started <br />on August 1st. Since he began in his new role, Gregory has been meeting with the twenty-one <br />municipalities in Anoka County and learning the definitions of economic development in each of <br />them. Gregory’s role is to help cities identify their goals and priorities and help move them <br />forward. At the county level, ACRED is working on broadband, border-to-border grants, and <br />workforce initiatives. <br /> <br />2. EDA Candidate Anthony Smith <br />The EDA interviewed Anthony Smith for the EDA vacancy <br /> <br />3. EDA Candidate Chris Swenson <br />The EDA interviewed Chris Swenson for the EDA vacancy <br /> <br />VII. REPORTS <br /> <br />1. Partner Agency Reports <br />a.
