Administrator’s Report November 9, 2022 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ELECTION INFORMATION Absentee - Direct Balloting  November 5, 2022, (City Hall, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday)  November 7, 2022, (City Hall 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday) General Election  Nov. 8, 2022 (St. Genevieve’s Comm. Parish Center, 6995 Centerville Road, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.) If you are new to Centerville, moved within Centerville or changed your name due to marriage or divorce, please register or re-register when voting absentee or at the polls. Call with questions: (651) 792-7933 or Anoka County Elections at: (763) 324-1300. On Wednesday, November 3, staff/Election Judges assisted 109 voters in the Absentee – Envelope phase of the voting process and released custody of those ballots to Anoka County for running through their counting equipment per State Statute. The same staff/Election Judges have assisted 137 voters in the Absentee – Direct Balloting phase. These results will be modemed to Anoka County on Monday evening following the close of the process at 5 p.m. PARKS AND RECREATION Halloween Hustle 5K/Trunk or Treat Event The Parks & Recreation Committee/EDA’s first ever event “Trunk or Treat” event was held on October 29, 2022 at the Centerville Elementary School following the Centennial Community Educations Halloween 5K Hustle. The weather was pleasant and some of the Trunks reported over 200 kids participated. The Committee and EDA would like to extend their gratitude to all that participated. A special thank goes to those that handed out candy and promotional items: Carbone’s; the Parks & Recreation Committee; Centerville Lions; Cubscout Pack 3065, who brought their inflatable archery; Chef Hot Hands; the Bald Eagle Water Ski Club; J-Mar Builders Home Improvement, LLC, who brought a live chicken; Laurie’s School of Dance; the City of Centerville, for providing a snowplow; M Health Fairview, for providing an ambulance and crew; and the Centennial Fire District for providing a fire engine. Volunteer Appreciation Event The event took place on October 25, 2022. Volunteers from the Scouts, the Planning & Zoning Commission, Parks & Recreation Committee, City Council, election judges, park monument volunteers, 5/8K run volunteers, Music in the Park and the Bald Eagle Water Ski Club were represented by individuals that attended. The Mayor and Council Member Koski attended and spoke with volunteers expressing the city’s appreciation for their donated time and stating that the city is a better place because of them. Volunteers were provided a meal, refreshments and cookies along with the opportunity to network with other volunteers.
