<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission held in Council Chambers on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. <br />I.CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. <br />1.Roll Call <br />Present: Chair David Kubat <br />Commissioner Darrell (DJ) Olson, Jr. <br />Approved <br />Commissioner Richard Nelson <br />Commissioner Les Kuiper <br />Absent: Commissioner Gloria Semmelink <br />Commissioner Bruce Thompson <br />Vice-Chair Krueger <br />Staff: City Administrator, Mark Statz <br />Assistant City Administrator, Athanasia Lewis <br />Council Liaison, Russ Koski <br />II.PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />III.APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />There were no changes to the agenda. <br />Motion by Chair Kubat, seconded by Commissioner Kuiper to Approve the Agenda as <br />presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IV.PUBLIC HEARINGS (6:34 PM or shortly thereafter) <br />None <br />V.AWARDS, PRESENTATIONS, APPEARANES <br />None <br />VI.OLD BUSINESS <br />1.Review of Designated No Parking Areas <br />Administrator Statz opened the discussion about designated no parking areas, noting that there is no <br />legal reason the city would need to designate no parking areas. Designated no parking areas are <br />typically adopted as a requirement of state aid highway and county aid highway funding that is <br />available in cities with populations over 5,000. The reason the P&Z is reviewing designated no <br />parking areas is because the city has designated no parking areas in the past; itÓs also timely to <br />review these areas with the recent reconstruction of downtown.
