City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 11, 2023 <br />nd <br />nicely. A public hearing (the 2 hearing in the assessment process) is scheduled for January <br />25, 2023 for the 2022 Thin Overlay Program and has been noticed in paper. <br />Junior Council Member Shaw thanked the Council for allowing him the opportunity and <br />anticipates having a great year with Council and hopes to contribute a lot. <br />2. Council Reports <br />a.Vacant <br />Parks & Recreation – No update <br />Anoka County Fire Protection Council – No update <br />b.Koski – Council Member Koski reminded citizens that clearing hydrants and sidewalks very <br />important and encouraged people to give a hand to someone in need and keep an eye out on <br />th <br />neighbor. He also announced that the Lions 40 Annual Ice Fishing Contest is on February 18, <br />2023. Koski thanked Michelle for her years of service and thanked the Lions and all <br />volunteers, recognizing that often, the same people are helping out with multiple events and he <br />appreciates their efforts. Christmas in the park was a well attended event and Council Member <br />Koski thanked the Lions and Fire Department for putting it on. <br />Planning & Zoning Commission – January 17 meeting upcoming. <br />Fire Steering Committee – January 19 meeting upcoming. <br />c.King - <br />Economic Development Authority – No update <br />Fire Steering Committee – No update <br />Parks & Recreation Committee – No update <br />d.Mosher – <br />Economic Development Authority – January 18 meeting. <br />Police Governing Board – January 19 meeting. <br />e. Love – Mayor Love welcomed Centerville to 2023 with a Happy New Year and is looking <br />nd <br />forward to great year. The 2 Jr. Council Member to be appointed to the position is Rowan Shaw; <br />welcome Rowan. Mayor Love also thanked Michelle for her years of service. He attended the <br />Grand Opening for Kwik Trip and is happy to have them in town. He noted that he recently saw <br />customers at all gas pumps within the community and hoped that citizens would continue to <br />patronize all businesses in town. Mayor Love also attended an open house at Atlas Villas Memory <br />Care and noted that it is a beautiful facility with unique amenities, curb appeal and an impressive <br />inside. <br />North Metro Telecommunications Commission – Mayor Love attended a NMTC <br />meeting, the previous week and reported that the news team wrapped up elections and post- <br />election coverage along with Blaine’s Veteran’s Program and Guns and Hoses Hockey. This <br />year, the team will again produce an Arrive Alive video, which requires intense production <br />organization. Close Captioning continues and a pay study is nearing conclusion.
