City of Centerville City Council Meeting Minutes January 11, 2023 Administrator Statz stated that the application is available on the city’s web site and could be emailed or dropped off at City Hall. Mayor Love asked if it could be accessed through the mobile app. Administrator Statz said he thought it could and would verify and correct if necessary. 2. Res. #23-0XX – Accepting a Donation from Kwik Trip to the Parks & Recreation Committee Administrator Statz reminded the council that formal action was required to accept donations. Kwik Trip donated to the City’s Parks Department and the Police Department. Since the police are a separate entity, they would accept at their next meeting. Mayor Love thanked Kwik Trip for coming to Centerville. Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve Resolution #23-0XX Accepting a Donation from Kwik Trip to the Parks & Recreation Committee, as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. Koski thank Kwik Trip for the donation to Centennial Lakes Police Department, as well. 3. Res. #23-0XX – Accepting a Donation from the Centerville Lions Club to the City to Defray the Costs of Fete des Lacs Administrator Statz described how the city has been operating a joint festival with lions for several years. Donations from local businesses have been growing for several years and have reached a point where they can now defray the costs of the event, in an effort to held keep events free. Therefore, the Lions wish to make a donation to the city to help defray our costs as well. Koski thanked the Lions for all that they do in the community, much of which goes unnoticed. Mayor Love also thanked Lions for everything they do. Motion by Council Member Mosher, seconded by Council Member Koski to Approve Resolution #23-0XX Accepting a Donation from the Centerville Lions Club to the City to Defray the Costs of Fete des Lacs, as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS 1.Administrator/Engineer Report – Administrator Statz stated that the mobile app has now launched. He encouraged people to download and utilize it and explore and website, as it is fairly new and let us know what you think. Remember skate night this Saturday. Another Skate Night is scheduled for February. Volunteer opportunities exist on P & R and P & Z Commission. The application form is the same form as for the open seat on Council. A Grand Opening for Kwik Trip was held and was nice event. The EDA is working with new businesses to help get them kicked off through their CenterStage program. Administrator Statz reminded everyone to clear snow from around hydrants. Atlas Villas has had one open house and another is scheduled for next Saturday at noon. We are very pleased with the two senior facilities in town and Amazon’s facility is shaping up Page 4 of 6
