DRAFT ORDINANCE (CLEAN COPY) <br />YELLOW HIGHLIGHT = NEW FROM LAST <br />MEETING <br />§ 156.006 DEFINITIONS. <br />For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates <br />or requires a different meaning. Other words not included in this section shall have the meaning defined in <br />Minnesota Statutes. Other words not so defined shall have the meaning customarily associated with them. <br />… <br />§156.104TEMPORARY DWELLINGS AND STRUCTURES. <br />(A)The use and occupancy of a temporary dwelling for the purpose of living quarters is not permitted <br />in the city, except for the use of: <br />1.A tent <br />used for recreational purposes <br />• <br />•on a private property containing a principal structure <br />•with the consent of the property owner <br />•erected for no more than 14 continuous days <br />2.A Motor Home, Park Trailer, Recreational Vehicle or Travel Trailer as defined in MN <br />State Statute 168.002. <br />These vehicles must be <br />• <br />•in good working order <br />•licensed for use on public streets <br />•parked on the Permitted Driveway <br />•These vehicles must not be: <br />stst <br />•occupied between November 1 and March 31. <br />3.A Temporary Dwelling as approved by the City Council by permit as described in City <br />Code, 156.104.B <br />(B)Permits Required: <br />1.Tents – No Permit Required <br />2.Recreational Vehicles – A permit is required. These permits shall be issued through a self- <br />service permit system or other such administrative process. The maximum length of a <br />permit(s) is 14 days, in aggregate, during any given year, per parcel. The permit shall be <br />conspicuously displayed at all times. <br />3.Other Temporary Dwellings - Applications for temporary dwellings shall be made in writing <br />to the Administrator and it shall be the Administrator's duty to submit the application to the <br />City Council at the next regular meeting thereof. The City Council in its discretion shall <br />grant or deny the permit and may require, as a condition to the granting of the permit or any <br />renewal permit, that the applicant appear in person before the City Council and be examined <br />as to his or her plans for a permanent dwelling and other matters relative thereto.
