CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />C�rjnteryi(fe <br />Establisfied1,957 <br />Agenda Item # <br />Department: <br />Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />IX.l <br />Administration <br />February 22, 2023 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Extension of Joint Powers Agreement with Rice Creek Watershed District for Erosion Control Inspection <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />In 2021, the City and Rice Creek Watershed District Entered into an agreement allowing RCWD staff to act on <br />the City's behalf, as they conduct their project site erosion control inspections. This agreement helps the city <br />fulfill its duties under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit at a very low cost and <br />eliminates duplicate efforts. <br />The first year and a half of the program have gone very well in the opinion of city and RCWD staff. Therefore, <br />we wish to continue this relationship through the 2023 construction season. The attached, outlines some of the <br />minor changes proposed to the agreement. <br />COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: <br />Hourly costs for inspection. Most of these costs are passed through to developers.
